Christian Brothers Academy wants to make it possible for all qualified students to attend C.B.A. regardless of financial need. To achieve this end, C.B.A. offers a financial aid program. To reach a healthy diversity among its student body, C.B.A. tries to attract those students who we feel will be academically successful despite financial limitations.

All financial assistance is awarded solely on the basis of financial need. Financial assistance is not awarded for academic or athletic ability. A limited amount of funds have been allocated by the Christian Brothers to be used for financial aid to those families that qualify. Christian Brothers Academy determines all awards.

Should I apply for financial assistance?

Any family that feels that their resources are not sufficient to meet the cost of a C.B.A. education are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Many factors affect your financial need including net income and assets, indebtedness, liabilities, number of dependents, and number of children attending schools requiring tuition.

How do I apply for financial assistance?

Call or write to C.B.A. (518) 452-9809 ext. 113 or ext. 110 to receive the appropriate application. We require that you file a Parent's Financial Statement (PFS) with the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). CBA’s school code is 1105. It should be mailed directly to SSS at P.O. Box 6657, Princeton, NJ 08541-6657 along with the application fee. If you have any questions regarding your application, SSS can be reached at (609) 406-5380.

In order to be considered for a financial assistance award, you must:

1. File your PFS application with School and Student Service

2. Submit a signed copy of your most recent W2 form (Form 1040) and all supporting

schedules to the CBA Development Office

3. Have your son accepted and registered to CBA by the deadline

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL AID TO SSS IS March 1. Applications for assistance are available after December 1st by calling 452-9809 Ext. 111 or 112. All applications are due no later than May 1st. No financial aid will be awarded unless steps 1 through 3 are completed. Your application takes about four weeks from the time it is received by SSS, analyzed, and then forwarded to C.B.A. recommending an amount that your family should be able to afford for educational expenses. Please take this timeline into consideration when applying for financial assistance. The amount of financial assistance is limited, so you are encouraged to file in a timely fashion. Requests are processed by SSS in the order that they are received so timeliness is important! Families will be notified of their financial award in May. All new-to-CBA students must have their PFS application submitted to SSS, their Form 1040 Form submitted to CBA, and be accepted and registered before any financial aid would be awarded by C.B.A. If you have any question regarding CBA’s financial assistance program, please contact Michele O’Hare, Director of Operations, at (518) 452-9809 ext. 113.
