Congratulations to the Bowling Team!

Congratulations to the CBA Bowling Team as they won the 2012 William F. Wigand – Albany High School Holiday Tournament on Friday, December 7 at the Playdium Bowling Center in Albany.

The tournament was a Baker style tournament made up of 5 man teams and competition consisted of 15 different teams.  CBA’s score of 1299 earned them first place in the tournament.

Brothers Raise Money for Radiation Oncology Unit at Saratoga Hospital

Members of the CBA football team volunteered at the Saratoga Hospital Run for the ROC.  The run, a fundraiser for the hospital’s Radiation Oncology unit,  raised $25,000 this year, which will be used for patients with needs such as transportation, wigs, prosthesis, etc. that insurance does not cover.

 

Van Epps ’14 Finishes First in Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation 5K

CBA Junior Justin Van Epps, along with members of the CBA cross country and soccer teams, ran in the third-annual Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation’s third-annual 5K in Clifton Park on Sunday, October 8th. 

Van Epps ’14 crossed the finish line first with a time of 17 minutes and 11 seconds.  Encouraged by Athletic Director Blaine Drescher ’04, more than twenty CBA athletes participated in this year’s run.

Shoe and Uniform Exchange: Important Message!

This message is from Major Erickson:

Due to funding cuts at the Department of Army level, Cadet Command (JROTC) is unable to provide returning students with replacement shoes for the school year 2012-2013.  Mohawk Army-Navy in Clifton Park and Schenectady carry the regulation shoes.  The Schenectady store can be reached at 382-0001 and the Clifton Park store can be reached at 371-9444.

Uniform Exchange for Returning Students:  As listed on the calendar, returning students can exchange uniforms on August 29, September 4, and September 5.  They may also exchange uniforms during regular supply room hours starting on September 6.

Please note that the exchange times for August 29 have been changed from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 pm to 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.  Students must be present to exchange clothing.

August 29

  • Cadet Officer Orientation – 8am
  • Student-Parent Orientation Night for Grades 6-9 – 7pm

September 4

  • JROTC Orientation (All Freshmen and all NEW high school students) – 8-2:30pm
  • Student-Parent Orientation Night for Grade 12 – 7pm

September 5

  • JROTC Orientation – 8-2:30pm
  • Student-Parent Orientation Night for Grade 10-11 – 7pm

Athletic Information

Fall Sports Starting Dates

  • All Fall Sports at the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman levels will begin practice on Monday, August 13.
  • All Modified Sports will begin on September 1.

On August 9, at 5:00 p.m., we will conduct the Selection/Classification Test for students in grades 7 or 8 who wish to compete in high school sports.  A mandatory meeting for all Fall Sports Athletes and Parents will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Students participating in sports during the 2012-2013 school year require an annual physical form to be completed and submitted to the CBA health office before participating in any practices, matches or games. Additionally, NYSED requires physical exam for students entering grades seven and ten.  Annual physical exams are valid for twelve months, with exception of any illness or injury lasting more than five days that will require review by private heath-care provider and school medical personnel.  Physical forms are available by clicking here.

Student Parking

Any student who plans on driving to and from school must register his vehicle and pay the yearly fee of $60.00.  Vehicle Registration forms are available in the Main Office and on our website.  Parking spots will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.  Failure to register your vehicle will result in disciplinary action and could result in the vehicle being towed.  Any questions, contact Mr. Groelz at 452-9809 x144.
