Awan Jenkins ’18 Selected for All-State Ensembles

Awan Jenkins ’18 has been selected to the All-State Instrumental Jazz Ensemble and the Symphonic Band of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA).  Last spring over 6,500 sophomores and juniors from across the state of NY prepared All-State evaluations in hope of being selected. “We are very proud of Awan for this outstanding accomplishment,’’ said Sarah Waite, Director of the CBA Music Department. “It is extremely difficult to be selected for these groups as thousands of talented musicians compete for a spot.  That Awan was chosen for two spots, and lead alto at that, is fantastic and a testament to his hard work and dedication. Awan will be an excellent representative of our music department.’’
